Summer School in Environmental Modelling, August 23 – September 2, 2010

August 23 – September 2, 2010

The summer school provides an introduction to environmental and ecological modelling. The objective of the course is to present different aspects of environmental modelling. Featured topics include environmental fate modelling of pesticides, population dynamics of pests and diseases, and transport of water and contaminants in the soil. The course will emphasize the mathematical and numerical basis of model building and the implementation of mathematical models into appropriate software tools. Parameter estimation techniques based on nonlinear least squares will be covered on an introductory level.
